Supporting West Australian Ballet’s Youth Ensemble program in Port Hedland

Port Hedland is a hub of industry and a vital port for Australia’s resource exports. It’s also the home of hundreds of young people with a passion for dance.

With the support of Roy Hill Community Foundation and the Town of Port Hedland, West Australian Ballet’s Youth Ensemble program was launched in Port Hedland – developing skills, increasing capacity, and giving an opportunity for Hedland’s young people to shine.

The Foundation is partnering with West Australian Ballet to offer a program of opportunities for the young dancers in Port Hedland with the formation of a Youth Ensemble that performed to a sold out audience of 700 people of Port Hedland in 2019.

The Foundation’s support will also help West Australian Ballet scope the possibilities for creating a dance work with local Indigenous people about a local story.

Together, we hope to achieve education, outreach and engagement of arts in the North West.
